Why Now

Social platforms change their algorithms without warning. News cycles are fractured and unpredictable. Paid media costs keep rising. Brands that built their audiences on rented platforms — followers, paid reach, placement — are finding those audiences can disappear overnight.

The organizations winning the long game are building owned media: content their audience actively seeks out, on channels they control. Branded podcasts are the owned media channel that compounds. Every episode builds on the last. Every season earns more trust than the one before. And unlike a social post or paid campaign, a great podcast library doesn't disappear when an algorithm changes.

Since 2017, we've helped brands like REI and BMO build podcast programs that rank in the top 1–3% globally, earn 4.7+ listener ratings, and maintain 85%+ completion rates — not for one season, but year after year.

Who We Work With

We partner with organizations that take content seriously — typically 100+ employees with a dedicated marketing team and a multi-year content vision.

Our clients typically include:

  • Enterprise marketing and brand teams
  • Content marketing leads at mission-driven organizations
  • HR and internal communications teams launching employee-facing shows
  • Leadership teams building thought leadership platforms
  • Communications directors at government and nonprofit organizations

You might be a fit if:

  • Your new CMO or content lead is shifting budget from paid media to owned — and wants a podcast or video program that actually builds an audience
  • You launched a branded podcast but it's plateaued — the quality or publishing consistency isn't where your brand needs it to be
  • Leadership wants to build genuine thought leadership but your team doesn't have the production expertise to do it at the level your brand demands

We're probably not the right fit if:

  • You need a one-off episode or a single-season run — our production engagements are a minimum 12-month commitment. Not sure if podcasting is right for your organization yet? Our consulting and discovery work is the right starting point.
  • You need immediate lead generation — branded podcasting is audience development and brand-building, not performance marketing
  • Your organization doesn't have a dedicated marketing person to partner with us day-to-day

What We Do

We produce branded podcasts and video for organizations that want to connect with their audience around something that matters. From concept through distribution — and the seasons after that.

For financial services firms: We understand the pace and compliance requirements of financial content. We produce editorial-quality shows with fast turnaround, integrate with your tech stack, and deliver analytics and editorial dashboards so your team always knows what's working.

For mission-driven brands: We build rich, narrative podcast seasons that go beyond talking-head interviews. As Conservation Alliance members, we bring genuine commitment to environmental and social impact storytelling — not just production capability.

We distribute and host on Megaphone, Simplecast, and Transistor, and integrate with your existing marketing tech stack.

How We Work

Subhead

We're a full-service podcast and video production partner — from first concept to ongoing production. Here's what that looks like.

Consulting

Is a podcast right for your organization?

Most branded podcast launches fail not because of poor production, but because of poor strategy. Before you invest in a single episode, we help you build the foundation that determines whether a show succeeds — a clear audience, a differentiated format, and a realistic picture of what it takes to compete.

  • Market analysis of existing shows and competitors in your space
  • Podcast format and concept exploration
  • Audience segment identification
  • Go/no-go recommendation with strategic rationale

Best for: Organizations in early exploration who want an expert perspective before committing to production.

Podcast Launch

From idea to first episode — in 6–10 weeks.

You go from concept to a fully live, professionally distributed show in 6–10 weeks — with trained hosts, broadcast-quality branding, and an audience infrastructure built to grow. Not just technically launched, but positioned to perform.

  • Recording setup and host training
  • Show name and brief
  • Show artwork
  • Music and sound design
  • Launch strategy and production dashboard
  • Distribution to all major platforms via Megaphone, Simplecast, or Transistor
  • Web and marketing strategy assistance
  • Trailer production

Best for: Marketing and content teams ready to launch but without in-house production expertise.

Full-Service Production

Your show, running smoothly — season after season.

The shows that build real audience relationships are the ones that publish consistently, improve season over season, and integrate with your broader marketing strategy. We make that possible without adding headcount — handling everything from pre-production to publishing while your team stays focused on the work only you can do.

  • Pre-production and guest coordination
  • Recording with experienced engineers
  • Editing, mixing, and mastering
  • Distribution to all platforms
  • Transcription and show notes
  • Social media content (teaser clips, graphics, web copy)
  • Monthly analytics reporting
  • Editorial and analytics dashboards

Best for: Enterprise brands and organizations committed to a multi-season content strategy.

Beyond the First Season

The best branded podcast programs grow over time. Once you've launched, we can help you:

  • Expand your network — add shows targeting new audience segments (like BMO's growth from 1 to 5+ podcasts)
  • Add video — extend your show to YouTube and social with full video production and editing
  • Repurpose your content — turn episodes into blog posts, social campaigns, email series, and paid media assets
  • Integrate with your tech stack — connect your podcast analytics with your existing marketing and editorial tools

We work with the production industry's leading tools at every stage of the process — so you get quality and consistency your brand can rely on.

About Us

Who We Are

We're Puddle Creative — a podcast and video production studio founded in Portland, Oregon in 2017. We build long-term production partnerships with mission-driven organizations and enterprise brands that want to connect with their audiences through content that actually means something.

We're small by design. Every show gets our full attention, not a junior team running a template. Our clients don't come to us for a single season — the average Puddle partnership runs for years.

[PLACEHOLDER — 2-3 sentences about origin story or founding vision if you want to add it. Why did you start Puddle? What were you frustrated with in how branded podcasting was being done?]

How We Think About This Work

Long-term over transactional. We don't hand off a finished season and wish you luck. The shows we're most proud of — REI's Wild Ideas Worth Living, BMO's growing network of financial shows — are the ones we've built alongside our clients over years. That relationship is the product.

Quality that compounds. A show that earns 4.7-star ratings and 85% completion rates doesn't happen by accident. It happens because every production decision — format, pacing, guest selection, sound design — is made with the audience in mind, every time.

Mission matters to us too. We're Conservation Alliance members. We don't just work with mission-driven organizations because they're good clients — we work with them because we share the belief that stories can change how people think about the world.
